TILT-SHIFT STUDIO-STYLE PORTRAITS With Laura Tillinghast

Most photographers think of architecture and landscape as the primary applications for tilt-shift lenses. However, TS-E lenses can be used to crate amazing portraits. The tilt function allows you to control depth of field in a way not possible with conventional lenses. Join Laura Tillinghast in this hands on workshop as she shows you how to create unique portraits using these lenses.

From the first Canon Tilt-shift lens introduced in 1973, Canon has been the leader in tilt-shift photography. Canon currently offers five of these unique lenses, including a 17mm, 24mm, 50mm Macro, 90mm Macro, and 135mm Macro. Having these focal lengths gives the photographer the flexibility to photograph groups, environmental portraits, and headshots using tilt-shift techniques.

Bring your camera. We’ll supply the model and the lenses. After this workshop you’ll have new ideas of what’s possible by using lenses that tilt and shift.

Laura has taught numerous portrait classes for Canon Live Learning as well as authoring multiple articles appearing on the Canon website.

Tuesday, May 7. 8:45am – 11:00am.  Meeting Point: Canon / Samy’s Suite in the Sponsor Headquarters of the Palm Springs Hyatt:  Prompt departures so please be on time.
